Trials: Tues & Wed at 8:30 pm.
If you are a new recruit, this is the time to be online and bugging our officers; as we will all generally be on and forming a raid group. This is also the time that we will ask you to trial with our guild as it is also our normal raid time. Applicants that aren't on during these times are effectively telling us they do not want to or cannot be online during our normally scheduled raiding time, and therefor are of no use to this guild.

READ THIS FIRST
You do not, under any circumstances, need to register to the forums to apply. Stay as a guest, and fill out whatever username you like.

DO THIS SECOND
The first step to applying is to make sure you read this thread in its entirety, and make sure that you have a firm grasp on our guild values, philosophy, and raid schedule. Make sure you have a very clear understanding of our loot system. If you do not agree with any of it 100%, please do not apply.

****************************************************

We require a screenshot of your raid UI. Please take one, resize it, and then attach it by using the img tags. You must host it somewhere else before you do this.

If you have any dps logs, wws parses, recount screenshots, or any evidence that will further demonstrate your skill and knowledge, I strongly encourage you to post them with this application.

Also post a link to the Armory page for your character on the World of Warcraft site.

NOTE: Half assed applications will be ignored. Failure to follow instructions will also get your application ignored. Thank you for your interest!

All recruits will have to pass a 3 week trial period in which you can no miss more then one scheduled raid (unless arranged at time of recruitment). During this trial period, you will also be evaluated on performance, attitude, preparedness, and how well we feel you fit within the guild. After this trial period, you will either be promoted to member or asked to leave.

PROTIP: Read the applications of those that were accepted, and compare them to the ones that were denied. Should tell you something.

Example application:

1. Name: Trystain
2. Class: Warrior
3. What spec would your character be applying as: Fury (17/44/0)

4. Please explain why your spec is the better then any potential others: My spec offers the highest personal dps of any of the potential warrior dps specs. It utilizes impale in the arms tree, and then picks up all of the relevant talents within the fury tree.

5. Are there any situations in which you think you would be better off as a different spec (explain answer): It could easily be argued that an arms warrior would be a larger attribute to the raid group, even though it sacrifices a large amount of personal dps.

6. What could be improved in your gear selections and why: Currently my most inferior piece is probably my belt; although for it's ilvl it's excellent. Tell brutallus he's a fgt for dropping 6 vanq belts in 2 kills.

7. List your professions: 375 Blacksmith / 375 Leatherworking

8. Previous guild(s) and reason(s) for leaving: Valiant all the way.

9. Why do you choose Valiant: I love to RP

10. What is your raiding availability: I can meet all scheduled raids, however I might struggle with offnights due to school and work. No promises.

11. What is your raiding experience(Pre and Post BC): PreBC I led this guld through MC, ZG, BWL, AQ20, AQ40 (up to phase 2 C'thun), and Instructor raz in Naxx. Post BC, I've led this guild through KZ, Gruuls, Mag, SSC (vashj kill pre attunement lift), TK (Kael kill pre attunement lift), MH, BT, and our current progression in Sunwell.

12. Who do you know in Valiant: Everyone except ahdragdruid

13. Who are you? I'm 24, still in college (on the 10 year plan apparently) as a networking and communications management major and set to graduate in december. I live in the greater Chicago area, I ride a 06 gsxr 600 and drive a Subaru STi. I only mention them because those are probably my largest hobbies outside of WoW and gaming. I have a decent rig that I built pretty recently running on a very stable cable connection. Very rare DC's here. I'm more likely to get a tornado (true story).

14. What mods do you use and why: I have a very extensive list. I use AG UnitFrames, Bongos, Squeenix, CTRaidTracker, ShowDKP, oRA, RatingBuster, Fubar and relevant plugins, Atlasloot, Grid, CooldownTimers 2, CooldownCount, and on and on.

15. Any additional information you want to share with us?

16. What potential new and exciting drama can you bring to our guild? I can provide endless motivational speeches.

*For dps classes*
1. Explain your dps rotation (skills, timing, logic): Without going into great detail regarding exact gcd lineups, I bloodthirst every 6 seconds, and WW every 9. Combine that with keeping rampage refreshed permanently, as well as battle shout. Once in execute range, I execute every gcd with the exception of keeping ww and bt on cd. If I'm off gcd and above 15 rage but below 30, I'll execute regardless of BT cd.

2. Explain what your most important stats to gear for are and why: Initially, hit is the most important. Once past the yellow cap, it's AP all the way. Once into T6 quality gear, I start acquiring armor pen without the loss of other stats. Ideally, I'd also aim for expertise cap, although that's somewhat poorly itemized pre brutallus (only found on the heroic mgt trinket)

3. Give an example of an encounter that is ideal for your class and why: An Ideal encounter for me would have to be Shade of Akama; mulitiple targets that do not have a threat table that I have to concern myself with. WW, Cleave, Sweeping strikes HOOOOOO

Prioritize the following from 1 (most important) to 5 (least important):
Honesty: 3
Loyalty: 1
Pride: 5
Integrity: 2
Compassion: 4
